Salmonella species are members of the Enterobacteriace.
Clinical systems involved
Most common: salmonallosis, gastrointestinal infections, septicemia and typhoid fever.
Less common: arthritis, appendicitis, meningitis and urinary tract infections.
Isolated from:
raw meats, poultry, poultry products, raw milk, pasteurized milk and ready-to-eat vegetables.
